About Warrior Pose
Virabhadrasana, also referred to as ‘Warrior Pose’, is a standing strength pose of which there are three common variations:
Warrior I: Take a big step back with your right leg so your left foot faces forward and your right foot is pointing outwards. Bend your front knee and raise your arms above your head gazing between them. Hold this pose for five deep breaths before repeating on the other leg.
Warrior II: Begin as Warrior I but this time extend your arms out so that the front right arm is facing forwards and your left arm is behind you. Keep your gaze on your front hand and hold this pose for five deep breaths before repeating on the other leg.
Warrior III: Standing on your yoga mat and keeping your back strait, begin to fold forward whilst raising both arms out in front of you and extending your right leg out behind you until they are parallel to the ground. Hold this pose for five deep breaths before returning to centre and repeating on the other leg.
