Hemi the Huhu Grub Soft Toy

I’m Hemi the Huhu Grub and I’d like you to know I am NOT a maggot – but one of NZ’s largest beetles. I have powerful jaws which I use for creating my home in wood, where I can live for up to three years. I will spend most of my life in larval form and as an adult become known as a Huhu Beetle. Some people want to fry me up and eat me because they’re told I taste a but like peanut butter?

Maybe not the prettiest of soft toys, but even Huhu Grubs need a cuddle.
